The Ajith- Sameera Reddy action entertainer Asal, directed by Saran is making brisk progress. Last week, during the nights, action scenes were canned for the film in and arond the busy streets of Chennai.

The film has some awesome action scenes which are very crucial to the story. After completing the Chennai schedule, the unit has now left for Pollachi to shoot a song for the film.

According to sources in the industry, Saran wants to shoot the ultimate Kuthu song for the film. Remember some of the most popular Kuthu numbers in Tamil cinema have featured our Altimate star. One of the major highlights of Ajith- Saran’s earlier Attakasam was the songs and its picturisation. Who can forget the chartbusting kuthu number.

It was like everyone in Chennai headed to Annai Illam, where the grand Sivaji Production’s Asal was launched today. Bemused fans of the “ultimate star” flocked near the gates, festooned the streets and erected gigantic cut-outs for Ajith, giving the whole area a festive look.

Stalwarts of the cine field including Rajinikanth and K. Balachander attended the function. The other VIPs who attended the function included Ajith’s wife Shalini, Sathyajothi Thyagarajan, Pushpa Kandaswamy, Rajinikanth’s daughter Soundarya, Yugi Sethu, Prathap Pothan, producers Prabhu and Ramkumar, comedian Dhamu, and many others.

Ajith looked majestic in his new getup, while director Saran looked absolutely overwhelmed and happy by the response the movie launch got.

With such a nice start, Asal – the fourth movie for Ajith and Saran together after Kadhal Mannan, Amarkalam and Attagasam – is all set to become a milestone in Ajith’s career.

Finally, the tensed moods of finalizing the director for Ajith Kumar’s 49th film have been zeroed down by Sivaji Productions.

Yes, it’s none other than Saran and the news was confirmed from both the sides before few minutes. The film has been titled as ‘ASAL’ that means Original in English and story discussions will start soon amongst the unit members.

Both Saran and Ajith Kumar had worked together presenting three consecutive hits ‘Kadhal Mannan’, ‘Amarkalam’ and ‘Attagasam’. It’s been a great confusion for both Ajith Kumar and Sivaji Productions once Gowtham Menon stepped out of the project. Later rumors spread out that it would Director Vijay, Dharani or Vishnuvardhan.

Saran who is working on post production works of his present venture ‘Modhi Vilaiyaadu’ will start working on script discussions by this month.

Sameera Reddy has been confirmed to play the female lead role while it would be either Rahman or Harris Jayaraj scoring music for the film

Raju Sundaram the director of Aegan will choreograph this song. The rest of the portions have already been shot in locations inside and outside India. Audio launch of Aegan is on the 9th of October. Music of this Aegan movie is Yuvan Shankara Raja.
